The Delaware Valley Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce the plans for its 56th season, which will include three exciting performances.
Our Opening Night Concert will be on
November 21 at the Council Rock High School South in Holland. Titled
“A Night at the Oscars”, it will feature well known music from Oscar winning movies, including E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Vertigo, Beetlejuice and will include a Movie Trivia Quiz for the audience. Bensalem Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo will be our special guest conductor.
Our
“Youth in the Arts” Spring concert will be performed on
March 13, 2010, also at Council Rock High School South. The orchestra will perform Dvorak’s “New World Symphony” and join with a local high school student orchestra to play other well known pieces. As always at our spring concert, the musical compositions of the winners of our Youth in the Arts Competition will be performed, and the works of the winning poets and artists will be presented.
Summer Concert: June 16, 2010, the orchestra will present a post-season free-to-the public open air concert at the Commerce Bank Amphitheater in Bensalem.
